Haiti is Totally Not a Shithole Country

The country of Haiti is so horrifically mismanaged that the people are starving to death and have to eat dirt just to fill their stomachs. People buy dirt on credit, dry it into ceramic disks in the sun on a field next to an open sewer, and give them to kids to eat because they are starving to death. Totally not a shithole.



Meanwhile, right across the border on the exact same island, the same exact people are doing just fine in the Dominican Republic. Two countries, one ethnic group, one island, and yet one is a shithole and the other is a tropical paradise. This has nothing to do with race, this is about government. Corrupt governments make countries into shitholes, that's why people try to escape.



The difference between the two countries - again, same people, same island, just different governments - is so obvious that you can see the border from space. Haiti is brown and desolate where as the Dominican Republic is lush and verdant. Same island, same people, same resources, yet one is a tropical paradise and the other is a shithole. This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with government.
