Largest Supermassive Black Hole Discovered

Astronomers have just discovered the largest and brightest supermassive black hole to date. SDSS J010013.02+280225.8 is 12 billion times the mass of the Sun and 429 trillion times brighter. It is still unknown how these supermassive black holes could have formed at the early stages of the universe.
